Jūrmalas Brīvdabas muzejs

In 1992, the fishermen's joint farm "Uzvara" was transformed into a joint stock company "Jūraslīcis". After the bankruptcy of the joint stock company, Jurmala City Council in 2002 purchased the buildings and collections of the Fisheries Museum. Since January 1, 2003, it has been operating as a branch of the Jurmala City Museum - the Jurmala Open-Air Museum, which is an important part of the cultural history of Jurmala and Latvia. The Jurmala Open-Air Museum serves the public, its goal is to popularize and study the development of the oldest occupation of Jurmala residents - fishing in Jurmala and its immediate surroundings, to preserve for future generations a collection of ethnographic buildings and historical evidence related to fishing in the museum.
